WARNING: if the battery is incorrectly replaced, there is a danger of explosion. Replace the battery only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer (Rayovac BR2032, 12-41476-06). Discard used batteries according to manufacturer's instructions. Be certain to follow any country, state, or local statutes for proper battery disposal.

It is not necessary to remove the MLB from the system enclosure to replace the battery; refer to this figure and perform the following procedure:

1. Shut down the system and remove power.
2. Remove the system cover.
3. Refer to MLB Components to locate the battery on the MLB.
4. Remove the battery by gently pressing it down and pushing it sideways out of the holder.
   CAUTION: Take care not to bend the battery hold-down spring. A bent spring could result in intermittent system problems due to poor contact with the battery.
5. Insert the new battery, positive (+) side up, into the holder.
6. Properly dispose of the old battery.
